Poetry of Life
The first book of Sumiran "POETRY OF LIFE" has
been published.
The first part of the book contains an interview with
Sumiran where he relates his impressions about the trip to India, his
meetings with masters, gives his vision of some ideas of spiritual practice,
and shares his view on the meaning of human life, on spirituality, paranormal
phenomena, and possibilities and ways of learning the world.
In the second and third parts of the book there are given
extracts from the talks of Sumiran to disciples held in May and November,
2003, in Saint-Petersburg. There are narrated various aspects of Zen-practice
and the models of possible human types on their way of spiritual development
are studied.
Information is given in the book in a visual, simple and
accessible for reading public way. I am sure that this book doesn't
leave readers indifferent and enables them to live their own experience
of communication with the master, which prevents them from making possible
mistakes in practice on the way of spiritual development, and really
helps to fill their life with poetry.
Apart, I'd like to share my own impressions of meetings
with Sumiran.
My first meeting him occurred just recently, in the end
of 2003, and made a profound impression on me. A faint smile, kind eyes,
soft and confident voice - they captured me. As I received later evidence,
while having vast knowledge, enormous practical experience, calm and
balanced character, he perfectly builds up his relations to other people,
touching them deeply. His delicate humour has the proper combination
of simplicity, brightness and accessibility of narration and clarification
of the most difficult questions that one is to meet across on the way
of spiritual development. There is so much unfailing attention to people,
enormous compassion and endless patience towards them, that it evokes
respect and trust to his words, to himself, and arouses deepest gratitude
to the master. One wishes to be more open to him, meet him more and
more, talk to, and simply be near him. And this feeling is true, because
it appears by itself.
The attitude to the world, the atmosphere that is being
felt in Sumiran's presence makes an indelible impression. Beside him
you get relaxed, forget your problems, you want to laugh and dance,
you feel yourself a child in a loving and caring presence of a wise
man. It is like the celebration of life.
While communicating to Sumiran I understood a lot. Many
of my conceptions have given place to more tolerating views on life.
He helped me to sort out many entangled life situations, opened my eyes
as regards the effective and skillful way of arranging my private life,
and communicating to people.
I am very much grateful to him.
Despite my short association with Sumiran I consider him
my MASTER, and feel happy that my fate was to meet him, and from the
bottom of my heart would like to express to Sumiran the words of utmost
appreciation and gratitude!
THANK YOU !
